Okay, I'm packed and the costume is all but finished....lacking only hemming and fasteners when we can do a fitting tomorrow afternoon. Am presently trying to finish up this "hurry up and get ready" stuff that always seems to back up when I'm readying to go out of town.
This morning we retrieved the "rosebud-less" temporary visitor, Major, who was so excited and happy to see us that we were worried he would bust his stitches. We took him to stay with the Cannons while I'm gone so he would be safe and not be a burden to Joseph who will still be watching over Garbo and Georgia (in season). On Friday Garbo got an A/I and on Saturday Dr. Ana did a surgical implant with sperm from CH Fortune's Curious George ("Monkey). About sixty days from now we hope to be having blacks and yellows. I've been going thru puppy withdrawal and since the house selling is on hold for the time being, I can hardly wait to have some little ones to watch over. Of course, as always, there's a hitch in that I'm judging in Pittsburgh the weekend after these tykes are due, so who knows whether Garborella will decide to hold off and make it even more difficult, or whether she'll go early as she has done before. At any rate, I'm delighted to anticipate this litter.
On the other hand, Garbo's daughter out of the last litter is SO gorgeous and SO much fun that we are hoping that the next bunch might be at least as nice! Boogie's brother, Rhett, was supposed to have visited this last weekend or today, but unfortunately we couldn't work out a pleasing schedule, so I'll have to wait to see him until Ann and the crew return from the Cape for the summer....what a lovely anticipation THAT must be!
Anyway, it's been raining here like cats and dogs, but certainly NOTHING like Tennessee or the like. And we don't have any shore to worry about when it comes to oil spills. I keep wondering how those idiots who shouted "DRILL, BABY, DRILL" during the national election are reacting now. It would seem that the oil companies have been all too quick to develop "safe" ways to get the black stuff up from under the ocean, but they've been reluctant (that's being polite) to spend any dough making sure that when an accident like this happens, they can stop it before it becomes an historical, extreme disaster of the first order. How awful.....and how typical of companies who are already on the books for being in business for themselves and let the environment go to hell. A pox on 'em, in my book. Bring on the wind farms and the electric autos!!!!
Okay, off to finish latching the suitcases and try to get some sleep. Getting up at 4AM has never been one of my strong points. At least I've already checked in and have my boarding pass.
Bon chance and au revoire (or however one spells it)--shucks, I'll just stick with CHEERS, MsPatty

We are sorry that we missed our visiting time. Rhett and I will come and visit as soon as we get home from Martha's Vineyard! (and by the way it is far nicer than the CAPE) We will send pictures of Rhett's first swim in the Atlantic ocean (he will have to pass his beginners test in the pond first).. Big brother Jem Jack had no problem when he encountered the ocean last summer. We shall see how bossy Rhett does when he encounters the waves. Have great travels GOM.

Have a great time on your trip! Hope Max is feeling better and I know Reese will be a STAR! Talk to you when you get back!
