If I only knew what I was doing, it might be nice.....have a Twitter and a Facebook page but don't know how to do anything with them either.....
But I can't let another day go by without declaring that it is a mystery where citizenship and responsible citizen participation have gone in this nation. The mystery is further deepened by mostly Republican vitriolic actions since the health care bill was passed. First, it's NOT a health CARE bill, but a bill that puts the squelch on the insurance companies so that eventually we can ALL GET HEALTH CARE. When these regulations finally fall into place, those companies will not be able to do so much damage as they have in the last few years of mainly concern for the elevated incomes of their employees (especially the higher ups).
I'm an antique, so where did I get the silly notion that HEALTH CARE INSURANCE amounted to me lending a company money on a regular basis to use for their own purposes until I NEEDED IT, at which time they took care of me???? Somehow this has evolved into a kind of bottomless pit into which we pour money, and then when we need some assistance as promised, they close the TOP and leave us blowing in the wind.
I've been continuously puzzled in the past year by the way the political party known as Republican has shown that they can dish it out (think previous administration) but they can't take it. If I'm not mistaken, the other political party won an election based on a need for change. But former party just couldn't grasp that reality....in fact, it fractured itself in the process of reacting to the notion that it hadn't prevailed. The about face some (especially the older geezers) have made in order to fall in line and scare the S... out of those who believe the mostly false rhetoric nonsense is truly remarkable.
What makes me laugh out loud in the midst of this scare is that a huge majority of the folks who declare that they can't stand goverment control over health care (which it is not) are actually dependent themselves on government support like Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security.
While I'm not a political radical, I'm truly amazed at the lack of civility shown by the fringe these last few days. Guess it's tough when you're not in the majority any more and have to abide by what those who are say is needed. The actions they take are real and dangerous. This gut thrashing about is not worthy of us as a democracy. I truly pray that it will stop. I fervently hope things will calm down and we can get back to a point where spirited and balanced (even intellectual) discussion will prevail.

Friday's Mysteries and Adventures
Okay, I don't know what I'm doing....this thing is set up and I don't even know how to get into it myself. Neither do I know how to let folks know it's up there in the sky someplace. So from now on I'm researching this mess and trying to figure it out.
Raining here, messy, not too cold. While I was shopping at Trader Joe's this afternoon, lightning struck about fifty feet away in the parking lot and everybody's hair stood on end. There was absolutely NO time between the bolt and the noise. I decided it was the gods that control the weather telling me to stop shopping and get in the car. Got back home to discover that Treasure, the four month old Garbo/Justin yellow girl has learned from Georgia, the Frenchie, how to stick her head under the fence and escape. The pool man saw her do it and placed a roll of tar paper in front of the latest escape route, but I have every expectation that won't stop her from finding yet another passage to freedom. This weekend will be spent fixing up the electric fence. The hope is that once she gets shocked, that'll stop her, but to be truthful, it's not stopped any of the others with an escape gene....take Albert, for instance....he now lives inside in Canada up in the ice and snow. They let him out when he's attached to them. Anyway, gotta go fix dinner and see if she's got out again. ARRRGGGHHH.....

Catching Up
Just trying to catch up with the modern world....discovered thanks to Darcie Cantor that I already have a blog set up and haven't learned to use it. So here goes: Today being the second (at least half of it) day of almost Spring weather around these parts, I have planted some herbs and pansies in the front of the house. Am attempting to spruce up the place in order to make it look nice for a real estate person to peruse for listing as soon as the opportunity arises. Of course, now that I'm almost done, the rain is approaching, so more work will have to be done inside. I'm getting rid of some pretty nice furniture (including antiques), a pottery studio, dog equipment, etc., in order to make this look more like a home than a warehouse. Anyone interested in finding out what's on the list, do get in touch....am in the process of learning how to use Amazon and Craig's list to move the process along. My daughter gave me a DROID for the holidays, so I'm being whipped into the modern world whether I want it or not. Turns out that phone doesn't have instructions. Lolly says the manufacturer thinks that if you have a DROID, you already know enough to learn to use it without instructions. HAH! So far it's taken me a month to learn that the green button at the button is what you punch to answer a call. CHEESCH....
Well, Georgia, the Frenchie, is currently snoring away in her crate for her afternoon nap, so I'm off to get a few more herbs and a Starbucks. Ciao for now.
